Atohm 9 Passive Subwoofer (pair)

Description

The supersmall Atohm 9 passive subwoofers are the ideal choice to create a pair of very compact high performance three-way loudspeakers from your two-way Purifed 4 loudspeakers. Position the Purified 4 loudspeakers for the best stereo image, and the Atohm 9 subwoofers for the smoothest bass response.

The sealed aluminum enclosures, with a depth of only 270mm, are ideally placed closed to a wall for maximum room gain. In a typical room a -3dB @ 25Hz can be realized, without EQ (*). In case you need more SPL capability, you can add another pair and stack them. Depending on the capacity of your amplifier, two to three units can be configured in parallel.

With an external net volume of only 16 liter the Atohm 9 occupies a very modest amount of your valuable space. When paired with the Purified 4 the system performs like much larger loudspeakers in terms of distortion and SPL while offering a superior tonal balance with a razor-sharp three dimensional stereo image and delivering a big, uncompressed sound.

As subwoofers are usually placed on the floor, a robust grille protects the driver from accidental damage.

(*) In-room response measured with Dirac Live, without EQ, and without room correction. Blue trace is the right channel of a Purified 4 system with Atohm 9, the purple trace is the left channel without Atohm 9. Purified 4 high passed @ 80Hz and Atohm 9 low passed @ 80Hz, both 2nd order.
